Solar Eco Remote Control to be included in Samsung’s latest TVs

Each remote contains 28% recycled plastic.

Samsung, which will launch 4K and 8K QLED TVs in 2021, has introduced the Eco Remote with the aim of reducing tons of plastic waste a year. It’s also a way for Samsung to preserve its natural environment.

The front panel of the Eco Remote Control is similar to Samsung’s earlier TV clicks. But if you look around it, you will see a long solar panel that can charge the internal battery. Samsung claims that the remote is made of 31 grams of plastic, 28 percent of which is made from recycled polyethylene terephthalate.

Samsung will release the Eco Remote Control two years before its battery comes out, and the remote needs to be fully charged. Internally rechargeable batteries are designed to last up to seven years, or the average life of a TV.

This will save you many years of buying AAA batteries. This is also a plastic reduction function, and the bottom also has a USB-C port for fast charging. Samsung’s eco-packaging efforts are set to begin in 2021, and “expanded eco-friendly packaging with oil-based ink will be available on QLED TV models and for all lifestyles.
